Eye examinations
A full half-hour test of your sight and the health of your eyes, with time to ask whatever you want to ask.
Have your eyes tested properlyYou are more than a prescription. A proper half-hour examination, frames chosen with time, and a record kept on file — so replacing a lost pair is a phone call, not another test.
A full half hour with an optometrist.
Your prescription, kept on file.

Care for the people you loveAn eye examination is not a full medical assessment — we refer you on when something needs a doctor.
Not just a prescription.
A conversation about how you see.
A WELCOME THAT FEELS DIFFERENT
Sometimes what you need first is somebody who takes the time. At optical the examination is a full half hour — long enough to check the health of your eyes, not only the strength of your lenses.
We talk about how you actually use your eyes: the screen you sit at, the road you drive at night, the book you read before bed. Then we say plainly what would help and what would not, so the choice stays yours.

A LITTLE CLARITY
Curious about taking the next step?
Here are a few things worth knowing.
About half an hour. That is long enough to check your sight, look at the health of your eyes, and talk through what we find — rather than handing you a prescription on the way out.
Every two years suits most adults. More often if we have advised it, if you are over 70, if you wear contact lenses, or if there is diabetes or glaucoma in the family. Come sooner if anything has changed.
Yes. Bring it along with your current glasses and we will make up your lenses from it, provided it is still current. If it is out of date, or something does not look right, we will say so before making anything.
We do — a fitting, trial lenses to take away, and an aftercare check to make sure they are still right for your eyes. Contact lens wear needs its own regular check alongside your eye test.
Choose 'Book an eye test' and leave your details and a preferred date. That request is not a confirmed booking: the practice will talk through availability and fees with you first, and no payment is taken through this website.
